2024 PRCA Rodeo Mutton Busting Qualifier

It’s that time of year once again for the little cowboys and cowgirls to compete in the HEB, M&J Mutton Busting during the JCSP PRCA Rodeo!

Here is everything you need to know:

WHO CAN COMPETE:

Open to the youth,  50lbs and UNDER in weight.

WHEN:

Qualifier is Saturday June 1st, 2024.  Registration and Check in is at 9am and we ride at 10am.

WHERE:

JCSP Indoor Arena located at 1315 S Main St, Cleburne, TX 76031

BASICS:

Youth must be weighed in at time of entry. Safety helmets and vest will be provided by the JCSP. Participants may furnish their own safety equipment. Contestants must ride holding on to the sheep’s wool or sheep’s body. NO ROPES WILL BE USED.

QUALIFIERS:

The Top 40 riders will come return to the PRCA Rodeo with 10 contestants per performance. Draw of the top 40 will be posted after the completion of tryouts on our website at sheriffsposse.com. You will be responsible for checking your child’s draw positions, as well as keeping up with your child’s back number. Contestant back numbers must be worn on the child’s back during each ride. There will be 10 riders in each evening performance on June 5th, 2024, June 6th, 2024, June 7th, 2024 and June 8th, 2024.

DRESS CODE:

Mutton Busters MUST wear a long sleeved shirts, jeans, boots and a cowboy hat or helmet during the PRCA Rodeo Performances. NO Exposed feet at any time. Dress Code will be enforce

REGISTRATION:

This year, we are offering contestants an online registration with payment.  Register up to 4 kids per registration form and pay online.  Entry fees are $20.00 per child plus credit card fees and non-refundable.

If you prefer to wait and pay in cash the day of tryouts, we offer an online pdf form to be printed and brought with you to tryouts.
