The Pros Come to Johnson County
The JCSP PRCA Rodeo is an official PRCA rodeo and an official PRCA NFR money event, with earnings from JCSP counting toward qualification for the NFR and the PRCA World Standings.
Rodeo contestants compete in events that crowns champions in:
- Bareback Riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Steer Wrestling
- Tie-down Roping
- Team Roping
- Bull Riding
Our friends in the WPRA also sanction our women’s events of the:
- Ladies Breakaway Roping
- Ladies Barrel Racing
Contestants travel to Cleburne, Texas from all over the world, and you don’t want to miss them.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse PRCA Rodeo is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. If you are a member in one of those two associations, you will need check with their membership departments for qualifications.

Local Events
Not only do the PRCA and WPRA contestants compete at the JCSP PRCA Rodeo, we also have our local talents competing. Local contestants in team roping, mutton busting and queen pageantry get their shots the weekend before the PRCA Rodeo.
Johnson County Team Roping
- The weekend before the PRCA Rodeo rolls into town, local team ropers will earn their spot on to the big stage.
- The top teams of the Johnson County Team Roping will compete along side the PRCA Ropers for top prizes.
Mutton Busting
- Little Mutton Busters from all over will compete in the mutton busing preliminaries the weekend before the PRCA Rodeo.
- Only the Top Riders will move on to the Big Show.
