8 Reasons to Vote for the JCSP PRCA Rodeo

As voting ballots are sent out to the PRCA and WPRA Rodeo Contestants, we listed the Top 8 Reasons Cleburne, Texas should be considered for their votes.

It’s that time of year again when contestants cast their ballots for “Rodeos of the Year” in the PRCA.  The Texas Circuit is has recently opened their ballots for the Texas Circuit Rodeo of the year.  This year we are listed in the Medium Rodeo Category.

With that being said, we thought we would share some of the reasons we think the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse PRCA Rodeo in Cleburne, Texas should be considered.

THE TOP 8 REASON TO VOTE FOR THE JCSP PRCA RODEO

#1

We introduced a $500 cash bonus to the fastest times and highest scores in each event in of our rodeo performances.

Each nightly performance, in each PRCA Sanctioned event, rodeo contestants with the fastest time, or highest marked ride, made their way to the JAG Metal Stage.  Awaiting them on stage was a $500 cash bonus following their event.  Not a check, not a money order, not an IOU, $500 in cold hard cash money.

#2

We made sure to added Equal Added Money in all Events

This year, all PRCA and WPRA Events had equal added money.  It was something that took a little time to achieve, but the committee knows that all events matter, and this year was time to set the new standard in Johnson County.

#3

We changed our traditional slack order to accommodate contestants during the busy week.

The committee reached out to other rodeo committees and studies the PRCA schedule.  After a few conversations, the JCSP decided to try a slack order this year that would be easier to attend by the timed event contestants.  The amount of rodeos in Texas the week of the JCSP PRCA Rodeo is huge, and always a mad dash for contestants and their families.

#4

We made sure to Drag after 5 barrel racers.

The ladies of the WPRA tipped their hats to the JCSP in 2022 with the Just Boots Most Improved Footing Award.  Many of the barrel racing contestants requested a drag after 5 runs.  With a little pre-planning with our committee and production team, we found a way to get it done quickly and efficiently in slack and the performances.

#5

More Breakaway Ropers were added to the Performances

When the ladies breakaway roping began appearing in the PRCA Rodeos, the JCSP decided to add it to their performance the first year.  With an already full performance, it was hard to find time in the show for 10 ladies, so the JCSP added only 5 the first few years.  In 2023, the JCSP committee decided that the breakaway roping has enough hurdles to jump.  Now the breakaway fills up, and be just as large as the other timed events.

#6

Air Conditioned Contestant Hospitality

There is nothing worse than traveling all day to a rodeo and not having time to stop for food and drinks.  The JCSP had made sure this year that contestants do not go hungry and welcomed them all to the air conditioned hospitality building.

#7

The JCSP brought WNFR and Award winning bucking stock

With the help of Danny Reagan and the United Pro Rodeo Company, the cowboys in the rough stock did not have to worry about the stock they drew.  The United crew made sure to bring nothing but their best animals.  That means the animals that have been selected for the WNFR, not once, but multiple times.

#8

Gravel Added to cut down on stuck rodeo rigs.

Our posse was able to add some gravel into some areas of the parking areas to cut down on stuck rodeo rigs should rain strike during any performances or slack.  We thought this might assist in safety and speed while traveling to the next show.

We know the contestants have many great rodeos to choose from, but we couldn’t help but a share just theses Top 8 Reasons we think that Johnson County is eligible for your votes.

Thank you in advance to all the contestants, and travel safe.
